Guidelines

  • Students are expected to give a 100% on all assignments and to be prepared to work during class time.   You will need a sketchbook, pencil, eraser, and paper in the art room at all times.
  • Every student will be expected to be in his/her seat when the bell rings.  No restroom or locker passes will be issued.  Please take care of all business before entering the art room.
  • Be aware of the school tardy policy and request a pass from previous instructor if necessary.
  • No food or drink in classroom or lab.
  • Students are expected to work independently on assignments.  All assignments are to be completed in the art room.  Please utilize class time wisely, as it is difficult to complete work at other times.  Homework is discouraged unless all art assignments are completed.
  • Students are to be courteous to other students and instructor.  Students who cause disruption during instructional time will be disciplined.
  • Art class is primarily a lab class but there will be times when we need to go over instructions on a techniques or compositions.  During these times please respect others by being quiet.

    1. First disruption will result in a verbal reprimand from the instructor
    2. Second disruption will merit a discipline letter home or a phone call to a parent.
    3. Third offense will require a parent/teacher/student conference.
    4. Any further disruption will be referred to the main office.
    5. If the instructor deems the disruption “extreme”, the student may be asked to spend the remainder of the period in ISS or go to the office.
  • Supplies are covered by your fees and are available for use in this class only.  Please do not waste supplies.  If supplies are wasted, student will not be able to participate in that assignment which will result in a zero.
